You might know that I enjoy running and that I have run a number of marathons over the last 25 years, now totalling 14.
My plan was to complete one (London, in 2000) however, I ended up coming back in 2010 to raise money for Kidney Research, and since then have continued to run one or two in most years to raise money for charity.

I’ve secured a place in the Tokyo Marathon in March 2026. This will be my 15th marathon – and also my final one (probably!).
It will also mark the completion of the Abbott World Marathon Majors “Six Star” programme, awarded to runners who finish all six major world marathons.
This wasn’t a goal from the start. But by 2014, I’d already done three of them. Then in 2023, while running the Chicago Marathon as part of the Abbott Age Group World Championships, I decided to go for it.
Now, Tokyo is the final step.
For this final challenge, I’m asking for your support.
I want to make this my biggest fundraising effort ever.
It won’t be my fastest race, but it will definitely be the most meaningful. I’m raising money for two charities that give amazing support in different ways:

Doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer.

Ensuring families are fully supported in houses close to the hospital to remain involved in their child’s care.
